Orientation Program at ZAUMS

New first-year students are required to participate in the orientation program organized by ZAUMS. As a new student, you may feel confused about the new environment you have entered. Therefore, ZAUMS has planned an orientation program to familiarize you with ZAUMS facilities, administrative and office staff, ZAUMS regulations. Additionally, during the orientation program, students will be assigned a personal advisor who will support them throughout their years at ZAUMS.

Accommodations
Accommodation plays an important role in building a strong foundation for academic success. At Zahedan University of Medical Sciences, we understand that where you live poses a major challenge to your student life. Therefore, we ensure suitable accommodation for all international students. ZAUMS provides all students with well-equipped dormitories located in Zahedan.

 Dining

A courtesy meal plan is available to international students at ZAUMS. The University Dining Hall offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, Saturday to Wednesday. Our featured menu includes the best quality ingredients of favorable Iranian foods. Typical Iranian main dishes are combinations of rice with meat.

 Options are also available for those who enjoy dining out. A variety of restaurants and fast food diners are scattered all over the city. In Zahedan you can experience a wide assortment of favorable foods, ranging from traditional Persian dishes to fast foods and pizzerias, and Asian food. Restaurant in a walking distance from the main campus provide peaceful and memorable moments for the guests by serving different types of Iranian foods.

Dormitories provided by ZAUMS have well-equipped kitchens so you can cook whenever needed.

Transportation

The University has a free in-campus transportation system at the service of the students and staff.

To get around the city you can use taxis our public buses. You can take two types of taxi: normal one and Uber-type. For Uber-type taxies, you need to install some smart phone applications such as Snapp or Tap30. We will help you to be familiar with the instructions.

Sports

Whether you are an occasional gym-goer or an elite athlete, ZAUMS offers sports facilities and supports services. You can choose your favorite activity among 22 indoor sports including: multi-purpose sports hall and shooting hall, taekwondo, futsal, and Volleyball, Open-air sports facilities (such as beach volleyball field, artificial grass, clay tennis (and water sports complex with swimming pool, dry sauna, steam sauna and Jacuzzi (are available for students.

IT services

Every SUMS student will be allocated a personal account upon registration. By activating your SUMS account, you can have access to your university e-mail, and the Wi-Fi at SUMS.

 Health Insurance

Studying abroad can be inspiring and enriching: meeting new friends, gaining valuable knowledge, discovering new cultures and customs, and exploring exciting, far-flung places. But traveling abroad can also pose unexpected challenges – from simple complications related to a different diet, to unexpected illness or injury, or even a serious accident. Often, unexpected medical expenses can cause financial hardship and even disrupt your study abroad.

All international students receive a Student Health Insurance automatically, once they are enrolled to ZAUMS. This insurance is valid for a period of one year and will be reissued on a yearly basis.

Libraries

ZAUMS Library is designed to help students not only find scientific and health information to improve, update, evaluate or evaluate health care but also place greater emphasis on teaching and research. Our library strives to preserve the archives of medical knowledge and, through mechanization, provide more efficient services to physicians, scientists and students.
