M.D, Ph.D (University of Western Australia)
Associate Professor of Epidemiology
After completing his studies at Zahedan School of Medicine in 1997, Dr. Tabatabaei engaged in public health initiatives within Sistan and Balouchestan Province. He worked as a medical doctor in a rural environment, served as the district tuberculosis coordinator, and held the position of public health manager at both the district and provincial levels. Throughout his career, he has addressed a variety of public health challenges and emergencies, including malaria, tuberculosis, cholera, and diseases preventable by vaccines. He possesses experience in executing collaborative projects with international organizations such as UNFPA, UNICEF, and WHO. After earning his Ph.D. in epidemiology from the University of Western Australia in 2009, he joined Zahedan University of Medical Sciences as a faculty member. In addition to educational activities, he has designed and conducted a diverse array of research projects focused on both communicable and non-communicable diseases, along with various public health concerns. Presently, he is affiliated with the Health Promotion Research Center at Zahedan University of Medical Sciences. He has been instructing students from various fields in epidemiology and has also supervised and co-supervised dissertations for medical specialty, medical, and master's students. His teaching experience includes a position as an associate lecturer at the University of Western Australia from 2007 to 2009, and he has been a member of the academic staff at Zahedan University of Medical Sciences since 2009.
