WHO releases Aspartame hazard and risk assessment results
Assessments of the health impacts of the non-sugar sweetener aspartame are released today by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Joint Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA). Citing “limited evidence” for carcinogenicity in humans, IARC classified aspartame as possibly carcinogenic to humans (IARC Group 2B) and JECFA reaffirmed the acceptable daily intake of 40 mg/kg body weight.

The Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Karachi and the Chief Minister of the Sindh Province in southern Pakistan discussed the expansion of cooperation in the fields of health and treatment and facilitating the visit of Pakistani pilgrims to Iran. According to Tin News, quoted by IRNA, Seyyed Murad Ali Shah hosted Iran's Consul General Hassan Noorian and his accompanying delegation consisting of the officials of the economic and consular departments in Karachi, the capital of Sindh province.
