Ali Ibn Abitalib (PBUH) Tertiary Care Hospital in Zahedan , Southeast of Iran to obtain an IPD certificate

The Secretary of Health Tourism, Irans’ Ministry of Health and Medical Education, Dr. Tarjoman, Mrs. Danayee, Health Tourism Expert, MOH, Dr. Tabatabaei, Advisor to the ZAUMS Chancellor for International Affairs, and Dr. Keikha, Head of the Department of Medical Supervision, visited the Ali Ibn Abitalib Hospital, Zahedan to evaluate the capabilities and potentials of this hospital for obtaining an IPD certificate.

The Secretary of Health Tourism, Irans’ Ministry of Health and Medical Education, Dr. Tarjoman, Mrs. Danayee, Health Tourism Expert, MOH, Dr. Tabatabaei, Advisor to the ZAUMS Chancellor for International Affairs, and Dr. Keikha, Head of the Department of Medical Supervision, visited the Ali Ibn Abitalib Hospital, Zahedan to evaluate the capabilities and potentials of this hospital for obtaining an IPD certificate.

 

This educational, research, and treatment hospital is considered as the largest hospital in the southeast region of the country, with an area of approximately 5,400,000 square meters (540 hectares) and a built-up area of over 110,000 square meters. It is considered as a tertiary care hospital with 736 approved and 637 active beds. It has an average bed occupancy rate of 76% with available specialized and sub-specialized wards, is dedicated to providing services to the compatriots.

During this visit, the presence of facilities, specialized laboratories and equipment, specialized and sub-specialized clinics and inpatient wards, competent and skilled medical professionals, the organization of short-term specialized courses, and suitable physical space in accordance with the standards for accepting international patients were highlighted as the strengths of this center for providing quality services to international patients.

 

Admitting more than 309,000 patients in 2022, including outpatient and inpatient services to services highlights the importance of this center in providing services to a large number of patients. Performing procedures such as kidney transplantation, infertility treatment, cleft lip and palate surgery, heart surgery, and the presence of paraclinical units such as radiology, CT scan, MRI, ultrasound, CT angiography, and nuclear medicine are among the strengths of this center.

 

Dr. Tarjoman expressed a clear vision regarding the acceptance of international patients and obtaining an IPD license for this center, considering the existing capacities and potentials.
