More than a thousand of rapid COVID-19 tests carried out at official and unofficial Iran-Pakistan border crossings since December 2020
So far, Zahedan University of Medical Sciences healthcare teams have taken more than a thousand rapid COVID 19 tests from foreign nationals at official and unofficial border crossings with Pakistan. Rapid COVID-19 test kits can produce results in less than 20 minutes.

So far, Zahedan University of Medical Sciences healthcare teams have taken more than a thousand rapid COVID 19 tests from foreign nationals at official and unofficial border crossings with Pakistan. Rapid COVID-19 test kits can produce results in less than 20 minutes.
Giving healthcare workers access to the tests could significantly reduce the risk of the virus being carried across the border. In addition to travelers, we have hundreds of people crossing a day with the commercial truck traffic across the Iran-Pakistan border.
Dr. Seyed Mehdi Tabatabaei, Vice Chancellor for Health of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences, said: "Due to legal and illegal traffic at the borders of Mirjaveh and Saravan, more than a thousand rapid coronavirus detection tests in these border crossings from suspected and symptomatic individuals were taken, of which 5 were identified positive and necessary health measures were taken."
Zahedan University of Medical Sciences Vice Chancellor for Health continued: So far, at the unofficial crossings of Saravan Pakistan border, a total of 101 COVID rapid diagnostic tests were taken from the occupants of fuel vehicle traffickers, of which one returned a positive result.
It is worth mentioning that all individuals are screened upon entering the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran according to the syndromic Surveillance l system.
A similar program already in place, the screening of drug addicts at temporary shelters in Zahedan, southeast of Iran, out of 320 homeless and drug addicts that received a rapid corona virus tests, 6 positive cases were identified.
