Chancellor of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences: More attention should be paid to the improvement in the health infrastructure in areas recently assumed the status of township

In a meeting participated by the managers of health districts affiliated with Zahedan University of Medical Sciences (ZAUMS), that was held on the occasion of the New Iranian Year (1398), Chancellor of ZAUMS, Dr. Hashemi Shahri reiterated that more attention should be paid to the improvement in the health infrastructure in areas recently assumed the status of township.
Dr. Hashemi Shahri said: the PHC networks in the new townships of Sib-Suran and Mirjaveh are facing issues such as shortage of human resources and poor infrastructure, and this should be considered in future planning.
Laying emphasis on the role of health indices in the province in materializing balanced development he stated that: improvement in the health status of the population does not equate to the development of physical infrastructure and technical equipment.
Dr. Hashemi Shahri added that past experiences are indicative of the fact that the most important and remarkable achievement in health domain are the outcome of creative management, optimal use of human resources and attracting public participation of ZAUMS and cutting down on expenses and making ceaseless effect to promote productivity and optimal use of limited resources of country as the mission and responsibility of health managers. The Chancellor further said: despite the fact that the US has cowardly imposed sanctions on our country, it is the duty of each and every body of us to make utmost use of our present capacity and capability to make improvement in serving our people and boost inter-sectoral coordination and enhance public participation in health activities.
Dr.HashemiShahri thanked the managers and healthcare workers from different departments of Vice Chancelleries for Health, Curative Affairs, Food and Drug Affairs, and Management and Resources Development for their effective contributions during Nowruz holidays. He further added that: given the fact that a disastrous flood hit some provinces in North, West and South of the country; ZAUMS is ready to render healthcare services to the flood_ stricken areas.
The Chancellor stated that our staff have valuable experiences in prevention of diseases, offering medical and treatment services in crisis and taking in to consideration weather forecast predicting heavy rain fall and possibility of flood in Eastern and Northeastern provinces of the country in coming days, the reassessment of relief teams readiness by managers and relevant experts is a must so that the level of readiness for prompt action and response in the case of potential crisis is unremittingly enhanced. It should be noted that this meeting was held on 7th of April 2019 in Conference Hall of Shahid Bagheri Training Center.
