Zahedan University of Medical Sciences uses Incident Command System (ICS) to combat Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Outbreak

Since the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19),Zahedan University of Medical Sciences has used the Incident Command System (ICS) as a coronavirus disease task force that coordinates and oversees the activities to monitor, prevent, contain, and mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Zahedan University of Medical Scienceshas used ICS as a standardized approach in responding to emergencies. Some of these emergencies have been related to sudden, large-scale outbreaks of communicable diseases.

Zahedan University of Medical Scienceshas used ICS as a standardized approach in responding to emergencies. The Incident Command System (ICS) is a standardized approach and a command structure for coordination, information flow, analysis, decision-making, communications, and implementation in an authoritative and standardized manner. ICS includes procedures to select and form temporary management hierarchies to control funds, personnel, facilities, equipment, and communications.

ICS consists of a standard management hierarchy and procedures for managing temporary incidents of any size. All response assets are organized into five functional areas: Command, Operations, Planning, Logistics, and Administration/Finance.
