The inauguration ceremony for the second group of international students was held on 25th January 2025 with the presence of the Deputy Governor General for Political and Social Affairs of Sistan and Baluchestan Province, the Acting Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sistan and Balouchestan Province, Chancellor of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences, as well as university vice-chancellors, managers, and international students.

Dr. Mohammad Hassan Mohammadi, Chancellor of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences, stated the university’s scientific achievements during the opening of the academic year for the second group of international students. He stated: “Given the similarities in climatic and cultural conditions between Sistan and Baluchestan Province and Pakistan, as well as the unique scientific capacities of this university, conditions have been created to attract students from regional countries and foster growth and prosperity [in the region].”

He added: “Fortunately, with the presence of 397 faculty members, adequate physical space, and proper welfare and sports facilities, as well as experiences gained from visits to Oman and Pakistan and consultations with academic members, this university has created appropriate conditions for attracting international students. Efforts must continue to further strengthen these infrastructures.”

He further noted: “We need to enhance the university's infrastructure, including strengthening human resources, increasing the number of outstanding professors, and expanding welfare and dormitory facilities.”

Mr. Alireza Shahreki, Deputy Governor General for Political and Social Affairs of Sistan and Baluchestan Province, emphasized during the ceremony that the province's long shared borders with Afghanistan and Pakistan present a significant opportunity for attracting international students. He referred to international students as scientific and cultural ambassadors and expressed hope that they would graduate with high educational competence at the end of their studies.

He also added, "We have significant capacities in the fields of education and healthcare, particularly in ophthalmology, which distinguish this university from others." He further hoped that by the end of the academic year, international students would master the sweet and lovely Persian language and serve as cultural ambassadors between the two countries.

Dr. Mohammad Arish, subspecialist in neuro-ophthalmology & glaucoma fellowship introduced the capabilities of Al-Zahra (AS) Hospital as the Center of Excellence of ophthalmology in southeastern Iran. He elaborated on the clinical and paraclinical services provided by the center, mentioning specialized clinics such as those for vitrectomy, strabismus, and orbit disorders. He noted that this center not only serves patients from the province and across the country but also receives patients from countries such as Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. This is due to the center’s provision of quality services at affordable costs. He also highlighted the publication of numerous research articles by the hospital’s faculty members in leading ophthalmology journals.

Dr. Javed Hussain Akhtar, a general practitioner of Pakistani national working at the Zahedan Health Center, delivered a speech on the experiences of international students at an Iranian university. He emphasized that the most important duty of students is to set ultimate goals and focus on striving to achieve them.

Dr. Tabatabaei, the Adviser to Chancellor for international affairs, also noted that studying at this university marks a new chapter in the students’ lives. He affirmed that services for the national and international students are provided at the same level, and international students have access to educational and research opportunities. He concluded by identifying the internationalization of the medical education at university as its ultimate goal.

It is worth mentioning that with the admission of 30 new international students in this semester, the total number of foreign students has reached 48.

بین الاقوامی طلباء کے دوسرے گروپ کی افتتاحی تقریب 25 جنوری 2025 کو صوبہ سیستان و بلوچستان کے ڈپٹی گورنر جنرل برائے سیاسی و سماجی امور، وزارت خارجہ، سیستان و بلوچستان صوبہ کے قائم مقام سربراہ، کی موجودگی میں منعقد ہوئی۔ زاہدان یونیورسٹی آف میڈیکل سائنسز کے چانسلر، نیز یونیورسٹی کے وائس چانسلرز، منیجرز اور بین الاقوامی طلباء۔

زاہدان یونیورسٹی آف میڈیکل سائنسز کے چانسلر ڈاکٹر محمد حسن محمدی نے بین الاقوامی طلباء کے دوسرے گروپ کے لیے تعلیمی سال کے آغاز کے موقع پر یونیورسٹی کی سائنسی کامیابیوں کا ذکر کیا۔ انہوں نے کہا: "صوبہ سیستان و بلوچستان اور پاکستان کے درمیان موسمی اور ثقافتی حالات میں مماثلت کے ساتھ ساتھ اس یونیورسٹی کی منفرد سائنسی صلاحیتوں کے پیش نظر، علاقائی ممالک کے طلباء کو راغب کرنے اور خطے میں ترقی اور خوشحالی کو فروغ دینے کے لیے حالات پیدا کیے گئے ہیں۔ ]"

انہوں نے مزید کہا: "خوش قسمتی سے، 397 فیکلٹی ممبران کی موجودگی، مناسب جسمانی جگہ، مناسب فلاحی اور کھیلوں کی سہولیات کے ساتھ ساتھ عمان اور پاکستان کے دوروں سے حاصل ہونے والے تجربات اور تعلیمی اراکین کے ساتھ مشاورت کے ساتھ، اس یونیورسٹی نے اپنی طرف متوجہ کرنے کے لیے مناسب حالات پیدا کیے ہیں۔ بین الاقوامی طلباء. ان بنیادی ڈھانچے کو مزید مضبوط بنانے کے لیے کوششیں جاری رکھنی چاہئیں۔

انہوں نے مزید کہا: "ہمیں یونیورسٹی کے بنیادی ڈھانچے کو بڑھانے کی ضرورت ہے، بشمول انسانی وسائل کو مضبوط کرنا، نمایاں پروفیسروں کی تعداد میں اضافہ، اور فلاحی اور ہاسٹل کی سہولیات کو بڑھانا۔"

صوبہ سیستان و بلوچستان کے سیاسی اور سماجی امور کے ڈپٹی گورنر جنرل علیرضا شاہریکی نے تقریب کے دوران اس بات پر زور دیا کہ افغانستان اور پاکستان کے ساتھ صوبے کی طویل مشترکہ سرحدیں بین الاقوامی طلباء کو راغب کرنے کا ایک اہم موقع فراہم کرتی ہیں۔ انہوں نے بین الاقوامی طلباء کو سائنسی اور ثقافتی سفیر قرار دیا اور امید ظاہر کی کہ وہ اپنی تعلیم کے اختتام پر اعلیٰ تعلیمی قابلیت کے ساتھ فارغ التحصیل ہوں گے۔

انہوں نے یہ بھی مزید کہا، "ہمارے پاس تعلیم اور صحت کی دیکھ بھال کے شعبوں میں خاص طور پر امراض چشم میں نمایاں صلاحیتیں ہیں، جو اس یونیورسٹی کو دوسروں سے ممتاز کرتی ہیں۔" انہوں نے مزید امید ظاہر کی کہ تعلیمی سال کے اختتام تک بین الاقوامی طلباء میٹھی اور پیاری فارسی زبان پر عبور حاصل کر لیں گے اور دونوں ممالک کے درمیان ثقافتی سفیر کے طور پر کام کریں گے۔

ڈاکٹر محمد آریش، نیورو-آفتھلمولوجی اور گلوکوما فیلوشپ کے سب اسپیشلسٹ نے جنوب مشرقی ایران میں الزہرا (ع) ہسپتال کی صلاحیتوں کا تعارف کرایا۔ انہوں نے مرکز کی طرف سے فراہم کی جانے والی طبی اور پیرا کلینکل خدمات کے بارے میں تفصیل سے بتایا، خصوصی کلینک جیسے کہ وٹریکٹومی، سٹرابزم، اور مداری عوارض کا ذکر کیا۔ انہوں نے بتایا کہ یہ مرکز نہ صرف صوبے اور ملک بھر کے مریضوں کی خدمت کرتا ہے بلکہ عراق، افغانستان اور پاکستان جیسے ممالک سے بھی مریض آتے ہیں۔ یہ مرکز کی جانب سے سستی قیمتوں پر معیاری خدمات کی فراہمی کی وجہ سے ہے۔ انہوں نے امراض چشم کے معروف جرنلز میں ہسپتال کے فیکلٹی ممبران کے متعدد تحقیقی مضامین کی اشاعت پر بھی روشنی ڈالی۔

زاہدان ہیلتھ سینٹر میں کام کرنے والے پاکستانی نیشنل کے جنرل پریکٹیشنر ڈاکٹر جاوید حسین اختر نے ایک ایرانی یونیورسٹی میں بین الاقوامی طلباء کے تجربات پر تقریر کی۔ انہوں نے اس بات پر زور دیا کہ طلباء کا سب سے اہم فریضہ حتمی اہداف کا تعین کرنا اور انہیں حاصل کرنے کی کوشش پر توجہ دینا ہے۔

ڈاکٹر طباطبائی، مشیر برائے چانسلر برائے بین الاقوامی امور نے بھی نوٹ کیا کہ اس یونیورسٹی میں تعلیم حاصل کرنا طلبہ کی زندگیوں میں ایک نئے باب کا آغاز کرتا ہے۔ انہوں نے تصدیق کی کہ قومی اور بین الاقوامی طلباء کے لیے خدمات ایک ہی سطح پر فراہم کی جاتی ہیں، اور بین الاقوامی طلباء کو تعلیمی اور تحقیقی مواقع تک رسائی حاصل ہے۔ انہوں نے یونیورسٹی میں طبی تعلیم کے بین الاقوامی ہونے کو اس کا حتمی مقصد قرار دیتے ہوئے نتیجہ اخذ کیا۔

یہ بات قابل ذکر ہے کہ اس سمسٹر میں 30 نئے بین الاقوامی طلباء کے داخلے کے ساتھ غیر ملکی طلباء کی کل تعداد 48 ہو گئی ہے۔
