H.E. Iran’s Minister of Health Inaugurates 16 health and treatment projects of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences, February 2024

During the celebration 45th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, a total of 16 health and treatment projects in the field of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences were inaugurated with the presence of the Iran’s Minister of Health.

During the celebration 45th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, a total of 16 health and treatment projects in the field of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences were inaugurated with the presence of the Iran’s Minister of Health.

 

According to the Public Relations report, H.E. Dr. Bahram Eynollahi, Iran’s Minister of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education in Zahedan attended the inauguration ceremony of 16 health and treatment projects, with an area of 1,934 square meters and a budget of over 396 billion Rials, on February 9, 2024.

 

During the opening ceremony of the MRI imaging center at Khatam Al-Anbia Hospital in Zahedan, he stated: “This advanced MRI device has been purchased with the assistance and cooperation of the Barakat Foundation, the executive headquarters of the command of Imam Khomeini”.

Dr. Bahram Eynollahi continued, "This device is one of the advanced devices in the country that does not have any limitations on imaging for individuals weighing over 100 kilograms."

 

Furthermore, the project of the Crisis Headquarters building at ZAUMS, with an area of 600 square meters, which was completed in 3 months, was also inaugurated.

During his visit to the Crisis Center of ZAUMS, Dr. Eynollahi said, "The construction of the Medical Emergency and Crisis Center at ZAUMS, with prompt and proper measures, has an invaluable and undeniable role in saving patients' lives."

The Minister of Health stated, "Sistan and Balouchestan Province is one of the disaster-prone provinces in the country, and various incidents and crises occur here."

He continued, "Sistan and Balouchestan Province has the highest rate of accidents in the country. Considering the vastness of Sistan and Baluchestan, it is necessary to increase the number of air ambulance bases and fixed-wing aircrafts."

 

The inauguration of Emergency Base No. 2 in Khash, Kalegan Saravan Emergency Base, Kont Saravan Emergency Base, Health Center in Jaldak Zahedan, Mohammadabad Kourin, Javantel Zahedan, Ismailabad Zahedan, Koshk Sib and Suran, and the Comprehensive Health Services Center in Chah-Zard Zahedan were among the other inaugurated projects.

 

Launching of a CT simulator (cancer treatment simulation) device for cancer patients in the Radiotherapy ward of Ali Ibne Abitalib (PBUH) Educational and Medical Center is also among the other inaugurated projects.

Dr. Bahram Einollahi said:  "All cancer patients in Sistan and Baluchestan receive free treatment. In addition to this simulator, advanced PET scan and accelerator devices will also be introduced into the service cycle soon, and this center will become one of the advanced cancer treatment centers in Sistan and Balouchestan Province. We hope that with the installation of these equipment, patients from this region will not have to travel to other provinces for treatment."

 

He mentioned that despite the deprivation, Sistan and Balouchestan Province has a very high capacity and potential, and providing services in the province contributes to its economic, social, and cultural development.

The Minister of Health stated, "After the Islamic Revolution of Iran, valuable services have been provided in the field of health in Sistan and Baluchestan Province."

He referred to the presence of foreign physicians in Iran before the revolution and said, "At that time, some foreign physicians were present in Iran and Sistan and Baluchestan Province alike, but now we see patients from neighboring countries coming to healthcare centers in Sistan and Baluchestan Province for treatment."

Dr. Bahram Eynollahi stated, "Al-Zahra (AS) Specialized Hospital in Zahedan is one of the most equipped and advanced ophthalmology hospitals in the country. The advanced ophthalmology equipment available at Al-Zahra Hospital is on par with hospitals in Tehran."

He also mentioned the successful implementation of the health screening program in Sistan and Baluchestan Province.

Dr. Eynollahi emphasized the importance of a healthy lifestyle in cancer prevention and said, "A healthy lifestyle, including a healthy diet, regular exercise, and quitting smoking, can significantly reduce the risk of cancer."

He continued, "Individuals with a family history of cancer should visit healthcare centers to receive recommendations for cancer screening and prevention based on their family history and other risk factors."

The Minister of Health said, "If cancer is diagnosed in the early stages, its treatment is easier."

 

The Minister of Health referred to strengthening border health bases and said, "Strengthening border health bases leads to the improvement of the overall health level of the community. These bases are located in border areas and provide primary healthcare and treatment services to local residents and migrants, preventing the spread of many infectious diseases such as malaria and tuberculosis."

 

He continued, "Strengthening these bases is of great importance as it can contribute to the improvement of the overall health level in border areas."

According to Dr. Eynollahi, drug smuggling is a problem that harms the community's health. Considering the capacity and potential of the province, it is hoped that pharmaceutical companies will be established in this province to help prevent drug trafficking.

 

Mohammad Karami, the Governor General of Sistan and Baluchestan Province, also stated, "Prevention and healthcare are very important. Disease prevention helps reduce treatment costs and improve the overall health level of the community."

 

He continued, "By improving the health literacy of the community and providing education, we can prevent the occurrence of many diseases."

Mohammad Karami continued, "It is necessary to develop and expand healthcare centers in Sistan and Balouchestan Province to prevent patients from traveling to other provinces."

He added, "The unique geographical location of Sistan and Baluchestan Province has allowed it to have good connections with African and Asian countries."

 

The Governor General of Sistan and Baluchestan Province stated, "Due to the vast area of Sistan and Balouchestan Province, it is necessary to make air ambulances and fixed-wing aircraft more active in the province."

Dr. Habib Ghaznavi, the chancellor of ZAUMS, also said, "A revolutionary transformation has taken place in the field of health in Sistan and Balouchestan Province."

He said, "Before the Islamic Revolution, there were no hospitals in Sistan and Baluchestan with international accreditation. Currently, Ali Ibne Abitalib, Daro-Shafa Mirjaveh, and Al-Zahra (AS) hospitals in Zahedan meet international standards."
