The Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Karachi and the Chief Minister of the Sindh Province in southern Pakistan agree to expand cooperation in the field of health and treatment affairs

The Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Karachi and the Chief Minister of the Sindh Province in southern Pakistan discussed the expansion of cooperation in the fields of health and treatment and facilitating the visit of Pakistani pilgrims to Iran. According to Tin News, quoted by IRNA, Seyyed Murad Ali Shah hosted Iran's Consul General Hassan Noorian and his accompanying delegation consisting of the officials of the economic and consular departments in Karachi, the capital of Sindh province.

The Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Karachi and the Chief Minister of the Sindh Province in southern Pakistan discussed the expansion of cooperation in the fields of health and treatment and facilitating the visit of Pakistani pilgrims to Iran. According to Tin News, quoted by IRNA, Seyyed Murad Ali Shah hosted Iran's Consul General Hassan Noorian and his accompanying delegation consisting of the officials of the economic and consular departments in Karachi, the capital of Sindh province.

The Chief Minister of Sindh Province expressed his satisfaction with the meeting with the Consul General of Iran, on the determination of the Sindh provincial government to cooperate closely with Iran in the field of health, public relations, passenger transportation, especially facilitating pilgrimage trips from Pakistan to Iran on the occasion of Muharram and Safar Months and in particular the great event of Arbaeen Hosseini (AS) walk   emphasized.

 

He added: the land journeys of Pakistani pilgrims from the Sindh Province and Karachi city to common border crossings, especially on the border of Rimdan with Iran, will be facilitated, and the necessary orders have been issued to the Ministry of Transport of Sindh Province to facilitate the movement and the arrival of Pakistani buses to transport pilgrims inside Iran.

 

The Chief Minister of Sindh Province stated: “In this way, the journey of Pakistani pilgrims will be facilitated and during that the buses carrying Pakistani pilgrims will continue their route from Karachi to Iran border and then from Chabahar”.

 

He assured the delegation of the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran that the basic needs to facilitate pilgrimages from Pakistan will be provided and the capacities of private companies inside the country will be used to provide buses needed by pilgrims to travel to Iran.

 

Every year, the Islamic Republic of Iran hosts thousands of pilgrims and tourists from different cities of Pakistan who travel to Iran with the purpose of visiting religious places in Iranian cities and shrines in Iraq. Iran route is considered the closest and most economical transit route for Pakistani pilgrims and tourists.

 

The approval of the signing of the memorandum of Understanding between ZAUMS with the Sind Department of Health for the exchange of experiences in dealing with common regional public health issues and scientific cooperation was one of the other topics discussed in this meeting.
