The third Internationalization Council Meeting of the Zahedan University of Medical Sciences was held on August 13, 2024
The third meeting of the University Internationalization Council was held on August 13, 2024 focusing on health tourism and the review of the academic calendar for international students. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Habib Ghaznavi, the university chancellor and attended by the relevant vice chancellors and directors.

The third meeting of the University Internationalization Council was held on August 13, 2024 focusing on health tourism and the review of the academic calendar for international students. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Habib Ghaznavi, the university chancellor and attended by the relevant vice chancellors and directors.
At the beginning of the meeting, after reviewing the agenda of the second meeting of the Internationalization Council in 1403 by Dr. Tabatabaei, Advisor to the ZAUMS chancellor for international affairs, the heads of the IPD-certified hospitals affiliated with ZAUMS addressed the meeting on the activities carried out regarding the implementation of health tourism, and the existing challenges were discussed.
Subsequently, vice chancellor for education and relevant managers presented a report on the actions taken concerning the academic calendar for the current academic year for international students, and the following items were approved for further follow-up and implementation:
- Necessary actions to be taken based on the health tourism checklist sent by the Ministry of Health
- Signing contracts with companies for health tourism
- Defining service packages and tariffs for health tourism
- Clarifying the payment system for healthcare providers regarding health tourism
- Enhancing facilities specially designed for health tourism patients
- Daily registration of Arbaeen pilgrimage patients' information in the hospitals' HIS system
- Referring foreign patients visiting doctors’ office to hospitals for registration in the hospitals' HIS system
- Uploading and updating the information on the English websites of hospitals with IPD approval
- Determining the academic calendar for international students admitted in the current year.
- Securing human resources for the international students’ affairs office
- Holding a meeting with the Vice chancellor for Development, Education, and the Dean of the Medical School to secure staff and enhance the educational infrastructure of the Medical School.
