Zahedan University of Medical Sciences gets permission for admitting students to MBBS course

The Committee for Adaptation of Educational Programs for International Students of the Secretariat of the Supreme Planning Council of Medical Sciences has granted permission to the Zahedan University of Medical Sciences to admit MBBS students from the academic year2024-2025.

The Committee for Adaptation of Educational Programs for International Students of the Secretariat of the Supreme Planning Council of Medical Sciences has granted permission to the Zahedan University of Medical Sciences to admit MBBS students from the academic year2024-2025.

 

According to public relations report, Dr. Ali Khajeh, Vice Chancellor for Education of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences, said: “Zahedan University of Medical Sciences succeeded in obtaining the permission to admit international students to the MBBS course in the academic year 2024-2025”.

 

He continued: “The MBBS course stands for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, it is a degree that is highly sought after and is awarded in fields such as pharmacy, surgery and psychotherapy in many countries of the world, and is usually 5 years long”.

 

He added: “Zahedan University of Medical Sciences, established in 1986, is one of the largest universities in Sistan and Balouchestan Province and currently has more than 4600 students and 402 faculty members”.

 

According to Dr. Khajeh, accepting international students is an important step in the scientific development and internationalization of medical education and can lead to the development and promotion of international status of the university”.

 

It should be noted that the Committee for Adaptation of Educational Programs for International Students of the Secretariat of the Supreme Planning Council of Medical Sciences in February 2021 allowed the universities of medical sciences to accept foreign students in undergraduate medical (MBBS) courses. A person holding the MBBS degree becomes a certified medical practitioner. This course consists of a competency-based educational plan with study, research, and limited hands-on practice under the supervision of reputed professors.
