Zahedan University of Medical Sciences' effective initiatives and interventions in the field of implementing the vaccination program were introduced as a model to be presented at the international level.

The national meeting of managers and heads of the Communicable Diseases Group was held from Monday, February 20-21, 2025 at Homa Hotel in Bandar Abbas, with the presence of the head and all senior managers of the Disease Management Center of the Ministry of Health, Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences, and other provincial officials.

It is worth noting that Dr. Mohammad Asai Ardakani, Senior Advisor to the Deputy Minister of Health for Health Programs and International Affairs and Dr. Omid Zamani, "Director of Communicable Diseases, WHO Country Office, Iran, were also present.

In this meeting, the goals, programs, challenges, and their changes were presented by the heads of various departments of the Communicable Diseases Management Center, and the best practices in the academic field were discussed to transfer experiences.

According to the Public Relations Report - Engineer Ali Naghizadeh, Director of Disease Prevention and Control of the Vice Chancellery for Health of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences, said: “Measures such as health education and community engagement, regular, continuous collection and systematic analysis of data, designing scheduled implementation plans, using auxiliary tools such as GIS, reviewing and modifying previous approaches to the monitoring and evaluation of peripheral vaccination  units, and the commendable efforts of Behvarzes and other health care workers, physicians, experts from the district headquarters and the Vice Chancellery for Health  with the support of service, administrative and financial personnel and the guidelines of the University's Vice Chanceller for Health  ; have led to the significant improvement of vaccination services indicators and the prevention of emergence of vaccine-preventable diseases outbreaks during  recent years.

He continued: "A report on the interventions of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences presented at the meeting of the directors of the communicable Departments from  across the country was brought to the attention of the senior managers of the Disease Management Center of the Ministry of Health and Treatment, and it was decided that in addition to registering these experiences as a national model, conditions will be provided for transferring and teaching these experiences in universities across the country, as well as the project at the international level."

It is worth noting that the opening of the national meeting of directors and heads of the infectious diseases group of the country's universities of medical sciences was held in the conference hall of the Homa Hotel in Bandar Abbas, with the presence of officials from the Ministry of Health.
