The Health Science and Technology Park of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences, as the first Health Science and Technology Park in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, was inaugurated vritually with the presence  of H. E. Iran’s Minister of Health, Dr.  Bahram Einollahi.

According to the Public Relations report - Dr. Habib Ghaznavi, the Chancellor of ZAUMS, during the opening ceremony of the Health Science and Technology Parks of the medical universities that was held on November 27, 2023 at the Iran’s Ministry of Health conference hall with the presence of experts from all over the country said: “The establishment of science and technology parks and technology incubation and innovation centers in medical universities across the country, along with the existence of a technology and incubation centers, will lead to the development of technological and knowledge-based activities”.

He stated that the Sistan and Baluchestan Province is rich in medicinal herbs and said, "This province is rich in creative and innovative individuals with motivation and ideas, and given the province's capabilities and the global market demand, it provides favorable conditions for the production of knowledge-based wealth."

He further mentioned that the Sistan and Baluchestan Science and Technology Park is located in the southeast and northeast corridors of the country. He said, "The Health Science and Technology Park of Sistan and Baluchestan Province is situated in the innovation zone of the province and the southeast and northeast ground, air, and rail corridors of the country."

The Chancellor of ZAUMS continued, "Currently, there are 80 technology units and 4 knowledge-based companies affiliated with Zahedan University of Medical Sciences."

He added, "The manufacture of 4 knowledge-based products, 67 technological products, and 3 commercialized products is just a glimpse of the activities of the Sistan and Baluchestan Health Science and Technology Park, which has been active so far in the form of an incubation center. With the assistance and special attention of the high-ranking officials of the Iran’s Ministry of Health, it will now expand its activities more extensively as a Health Science and Technology Park."

He also stated, "A problem-oriented strategy is the main foundation in the transformation of science into technology and wealth in the field of health."

He further added, "The Islamic Republic of Iran is ranked 15th in the world in research. We should strive towards the development of health technology while preserving and enhancing this position."

Dr. Ghaznavi stated, "The development of technology and innovation is one of the requirements and necessities of medical universities in the country, and ZAUMS also pays special attention to this matter."

Mr. Ganjali, the Director of the Science and Technology Park at ZAUMS on the sidelines of the video conference of the inauguration ceremony of the Science and Technology Parks also mentioned: "The Science and Technology Park of ZAUMS is ready to accept, support, and foster creative ideas of our fellow province residents in the field of health."

He continued, "Science and Technology Parks, along with strong technologists, inventors, and idea makers, are considered as platforms for transforming ideas into products."

He also pointed out that the Health Science and Technology Park of ZAUMS occupies an area of 83,000 square meters and said: "We are delighted that the first Health Science and Technology Park in Sistan and Baluchestan and the southeast of the country has become operational in this university. This is great news for the young and creative individuals in this province, as it shortens their path to joining the community of innovators and entrepreneurs."
