Zahedan University of Medical Sciences commences COVID-19 Vaccination for everyone 18 years and older
With the approval of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, COVID-19 vaccination for the population 18 years of age and older in Sistan and Baluchestan Province began today. According to the public relations report - Dr. Seyed Mehdi Tabatabaei, Vice Chancellor for Health of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences, during a visit to a COVID-19 vaccination center in Zahedan district, announced that: "All residents of Sistan and Balouchetsan Province aged 18 years and older are recommended to get vaccinated against COVID-19".

With the approval of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, COVID-19 vaccination for the population 18 years of age and older in Sistan and Baluchestan Province began today. According to the public relations report - Dr. Seyed Mehdi Tabatabaei, Vice Chancellor for Health of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences, during a visit to a COVID-19 vaccination center in Zahedan district, announced that: "All residents of Sistan and Balouchetsan Province aged 18 years and older are recommended to get vaccinated against COVID-19".
Zahedan University of Medical Sciences Vice Chancellor for Health added: "So far, more than 370,000 doses of corona vaccine have been inoculated in the area covered by Zahedan University of Medical Sciences, and vaccination coverage has reached 33% in the population over 18 years old."
According to Dr. Tabatabai, with the decrease in the age of target population eligible for COVID-19 vaccination in the province, we need the participation of all the Provinces inhabitants in order to achieve reasonable level of herd immunity in a short period of time".
Regarding student vaccination, he said: "Student vaccination guidelines are being developed by Iran"s Ministry of Health and Medical Education, and as soon as it is announced, student vaccination will be on the agenda."
He said: "A total of 14 COVID-19 vaccination centers have been set up by Zahedan University of Medical Sciences, and if necessary we are ready to increase the working hours and the number of vaccination center".
