Organ donation represents a crucial and compassionate endeavor that has gained greater acceptance and involvement in recent years. This selfless act not only preserves the lives of individuals in dire need but also fosters a spirit of altruism and generosity within the community.
Recently, several families in our province have chosen to donate the organs of their deceased loved ones. As reported by the Public Relations department, Dr. Momeni, the vice chancellor of Treatment at Zahedan University of Medical Sciences, noted that the organs donated by the families of four individuals who suffered brain death have provided new life to nine patients awaiting transplants. He elaborated that these donations included organs from four deceased individuals for patients requiring heart, kidney, and liver transplants in the cities of Zahedan and Shiraz.
Dr. Mohammad Hasan Mohammadi, the chancellor of ZAUMS, remarked during the funeral ceremony for the fourth organ donor in Zahedan: "He generously and consciously expressed his wish to his family that, should circumstances permit, his organs be donated to those afflicted by illness." While offering prayers for divine forgiveness and mercy for this individual, he continued: "Following the hero's brain death, his compassionate family permitted the medical team to proceed with the donation of his liver to another patient in need." He underscored that the patience and wisdom exhibited by these families can significantly impact the lives of patients awaiting organ transplants, asserting: "Promoting the divine culture of organ donation within society has the potential to save thousands of lives. We aspire that through the continuation of this noble act, we will observe a growth in the culture of organ donation in our community."
