Hosting the Arbaeen pilgrims is a great honor and a precious opportunity for service, through which one can explain the rich Iranian culture as well as the shared religious ties.
According to the public relations report, Dr. Habib Ghaznavi, the Chancellor of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences, said in the first Arbaeen Health Committee meeting this year: "In addition to our religious, spiritual and belief-based aspect, Arbaeen is a special opportunity for the cultural, tourism and improvement of the 'internationalization at home' aspect of university performances”.
He continued: "The common cultural and religious ties with the Arbaeen pilgrims entering the province from Pakistan, considering the experiences of the previous years and also holding Urdu language training courses, is a special opportunity for the medical staff and students to work on internationalization at home and engage in the development of the health tourism industry."
Dr. Ghazanavi added: “A large number of devotees of Imam Hussain (PBUH) will enter the country through Mile 72 border crossing and the Rimdan border to participate in the Arbaeen Hussaini pilgrimage, and we are ready for providing services to the pilgrims”.
Dr. Ghazanavi said: “The selfless volunteers, especially the students of this university, have always been passionately and eagerly present to serve the pilgrims.
He continued: “The syndromic surveillance system at the Mirjaveh border crossing will be implemented, similar to previous years, and all pilgrims entering the country will be examined for more than 60 types of diseases”.
He also referred to the significant outbreak of dengue fever in the region and emphasized all foreign nationals who enter our country from the Sistan and Baluchestan borders must be thoroughly evaluated, and if the disease is proven, necessary measures should be taken to prevent the spread of the disease.
The Chancellor of ZAUMS stated: "Our preference is for Arbaeen Hussaini pilgrims to enter the country through the Mirjaveh border, and if they enter through the Rimdan border, their stay in the southern regions of the province should be as short as possible due to the hot weather and the possibility of the presence of Aedes mosquitoes."
Dr. Ali Abdolrazzagh Nejad, the Director of Pre-Hospital Emergency at ZAUMS, also said: "Considering the experiences of previous years, all aspects have been examined for the proper hosting of the pilgrims, and we hope to benefit from this special spiritual opportunity with dignity.
He stated: "Last year, more than 94,000 pilgrims entered the country through the eastern borders. In last year's Arbaeen program, 4 health and treatment stations were set up in the city of Zahedan at the Imam Reza (AS) Pilgrim Hall, Alghadir Camp, Shahid Beheshti Camp, and Shahid Jahanzadeh Husseiniyah, and 2 health and treatment stations were set up in Mirjaveh at the Imam Reza (AS) Pilgrim Hall and the Mile 72 Mirjaveh border health and treatment station, providing services to the Arbaeen Hussaini pilgrims, and for this year as well, precise planning will be done for the establishment of the health and treatment stations”.
