The second meeting of the Internationalization Council of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences (ZAUMS) was held with the focus on the internationalization of education on Tuesday 02/08/2022 with the presence of the Chancellor and vice chancellors of the university, a group of managers and deans of faculties affiliated with ZAUMS.

The second meeting of the Internationalization Council of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences (ZAUMS) was held with the focus on the internationalization of education on Tuesday 02/08/2022 with the presence of the Chancellor and vice chancellors of the university, a group of managers and deans of faculties affiliated with ZAUMS.
Dr. Habib Ghaznavi, chancellor of the university, pointing out that considering the criteria such as competitive advantages, the existence of appropriate infrastructure, and the availability of experienced faculty members, called for the announcement of undergraduate courses in Persian and postgraduate courses (in Persian or English language) to recruit international students in the second academic semester of 1401-1402.
In addition, it was decided that to estimate the tuition fees of the courses announced to attract international students, (including educational and welfare expenses) based on the educational regulations for non-Iranian students approved by the 80th meeting of the Supreme Planning Council of Medical Sciences dated 1/08/ 2021. The estimated fee structure should be approved in the first meeting of the ZAUMS Board of Trustees.
In order to introduce the capacities and capabilities of the university, the deans of the faculties and heads of hospitals affiliated to the university were asked to update the English website of the relevant units with the coordination and supervision of the Vice-Chancellors of Education and Treatment as well as the International Affairs Office. On the other hand, considering the availability of unfilled open residency position in different clinical fields, it was decided to obtain the necessary permits to recruit international students in residency programs in clinical fields.
It was approved that the necessary planning for the signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoU( and the establishment of a cooperation office in regional universities to hold joint training courses should be pursued by International Affairs Office. The vice-chancellors of universities, hospital managers and deans of faculties were asked to develop short term training courses (one to two weeks) in English and inform the International Affairs Office of the university. The Winter School will be implemented in the second half of this Iranian year.
Other approvals of this meeting include: updating the Fact Book of the university to introduce the capacities of the university, and designing an Application Form for uploading to the English website of Education Iran, issuance of training certificates for English Lecture Series speakers, necessary coordination for the presence of a faculty member of the language department in English lecture sessions.
