Zahedan University of Medical Sciences admits the first group of international students in the field of Doctor of Medicine in August 2024
According to the Public Relations report, Dr. Seyyed Mehdi Tabatabaei, the Advisor to chancellor for International Affairs, stated: “After approximately four decades since the establishment of the university and the presence of more than 400 faculty members and the existence of appropriate scientific, educational, and student capacities at the university, with the admission for international students, important steps have been taken towards the internationalization of medical education at the university”.

According to the Public Relations report, Dr. Seyyed Mehdi Tabatabaei, the Advisor to chancellor for International Affairs, stated: “After approximately four decades since the establishment of the university and the presence of more than 400 faculty members, more than 4200 students and 20000 alumni and the existence of appropriate scientific, educational, and student capacities at the university, with the admission for international students, important steps have been taken towards the internationalization of medical education at the university”.
He added: “With the planning carried out at ZAUMS, the process of admitting 20 international students from Pakistan for the field of MD has been completed”.
He pointed out that the admission for international students will enhance the international standing of the university, and added: In the first group of international students, 20 people were admitted, 12 of whom are female and 8 are male.
He added that these students will start their studies at the School of Medicine from next week.
The Zahedan University of Medical Sciences and Health Services (ZAUMS) founded in 1986, currently has more than 405 permanent faculty members in the ranks of Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, and Lecturers on staff. Zahedan University of Medical Sciences, like all universities of medical sciences in the Islamic Republic of Iran, in addition to educational and research activities, is also responsible for providing health and treatment services to the residents of the area covered by university.
