A "National Health Campaign” with the slogan "earlier awareness, more effective care" is being implemented throughout the country from October 11, 2023 to January 5, 2024.
This national campaign is being held with the aim of improving the registration of people with electronic health records and identification, initiation of care and treatment in patients with diabetes and hypertension and increasing the society's awareness of risk factors, consequences and the importance of early diagnosis and control of diabetes and high blood pressure in people 18 years and older in the society.
A quarter of people with diabetes in the country and 40% of people with high blood pressure are unaware of their disease. It is expected that 70% of the country's population, i.e. people over 18 years of age, which includes a population of over 45 million people, are covered in this campaign.
National Health Campaign in all cities covered by the university at the level of health centers, health centers, comprehensive urban and rural health service centers, hospitals and other public places such as mosques and institutes diabetes and hypertension screening offices for the elderly It is done for 18 years.
Calling and informing the public has been done through national and provincial media, internet sites and social media.
Timely identification of diabetes and high blood pressure in the first level of prevention is of great importance, adhering to healthy ways of living, and adopting a healthy lifestyle can largely prevent the occurrence of these diseases, because silent nature of these diseases but with potentially dire and life-threatening consequences.
Since the beginning of the campaign, a total of 79,130 people have been screened, of which 1,717 people had high blood pressure and 631 people were suspected of diabetes.
