Implementation of International Health Regulations (IHR) and screening of the 2018 Hajj pilgrims for communicable disease upon arrival at the Zahedan International Airport, southeast of Iran
One of the largest regular mass gatherings in the world is the Hajj, that involves over two million Muslims from all over the world. Mass gatherings may pose major public health challenges, particularly the transmission of infectious diseases. Respiratory and gastrointestinal tract bacterial and viral infections can spread rapidly and affect attendees of mass gatherings.
New achievement in line with implementation of Health system Reform Plan, 7000 free nutrition consultations in Zahedan University of Medical Sciences, Zahedan, Iran
With implementation of Health system Reform Plan and contribution of nutrition experts in Comprehensive Health Services Centers, about 7000 individuals of different age groups suffering from malnutrition receive free of charge consultations for modification and improvement of their nutritional status.
Highlights from the second Annual Global Forum of Malaria-Eliminating Countries: Focusing on the Foci 11-13 June 2018, San Jose, Costa Rica
The 2nd Annual Global Forum of Malaria Eliminating Countries convened by WHO was held in San Jose, Costa Rica, from 11-13 June 2018. This was a 2.5 day meeting with approximately 100 participants from 20 out of 21 national programme managers (or representatives) of E2020 countries, additional national programme participants as observer (Panama, Guatemala, Argentina, Nicaragua and Honduras), 10 MEOC members, WHO staff and partners.
