Ms. Monika O. NIELSEN, Deputy Representative Programmes, UNICEF Iran, Ms. Shirley Mark Prabhu, Regional Adolescent Health and HIV Specialist at UNICEF East Asia and Pacific Regional Office, and Dr. Gagan Gupta, Senior Adviser and lead for the Maternal and Newborn Health team at UNICEF headquarters in New York, visited healthcare centers in Zahedan as senior representatives of UNICEF.

The First International Congress on Primary Health Care (PHC) and Universal Health Coverage (UHC) through the Family Health Program took place in the Iranian capital, with the participation of representatives from 17 countries.

According to public relations report, Dr. Ali Abdul Razzaq Nejad, Head of the Pre-hospital Emergency department of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences, said: “A 25-year-old young man who suffered a severe head injury due to an accident underwent two surgeries in Zahedan and in order to complete the treatment procedures, he was air transferred to Tehran”.

The 28th meeting of the member countries of Group Five with the theme of "Women's and Family Health" began on 13 February 2024 in Teran, Iran, with the presence of the Vice President of Women and Family Affairs, the Minister of Health and health authorities and experts of the member states and the representative of the World Health Organization in Iran. G5 member states including Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Iran, and the World Health Organization have attended the meeting.

The Medical Education Development Center (EDC) at Zahedan University of Medical Sciences organized an international workshop on "Internationalization of Higher Education from Theory to Practice" with a presentation by Dr. Enayatollah Shabani, Dean of International College at Tehran University of Medical Sciences. The workshop was held on Thursday, February 7, 2024, with the presence of the chancellor of ZAUMS and faculty members.

The third meeting of the Internationalization Council of the ZAUMS was held on 21/01/2024, with the presence of the Chancellor, the chancellor's advisor for international affairs and vice chancellors of the Treatment Affairs, Education, Development and Resource Management and Student and Cultural Affairs of the university, a group of managers and a number of heads of schools and deans of hospitals and relevant experts, focusing on attracting international students and foreign patients.

The Committee for Adaptation of Educational Programs for International Students of the Secretariat of the Supreme Planning Council of Medical Sciences has granted permission to the Zahedan University of Medical Sciences to admit MBBS students from the academic year2024-2025.
