Zahedan University of Medical Sciences

Presidential election was held in Iran on 18 June 2021. They were the thirteenth quadrennial presidential elections in Iran since the establishment of the Islamic Republic.

The director of Disease Prevention and Control Department of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences announced the beginning of inoculation of Covid-19 vaccine for sanitation workers of Zahedan.

The Chancellor of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences stated that during the Nowruz 2021 holidays from March 15, 2021 to April 4, 2021, unfortunately, 44 people lost their lives due to road traffic accidents in the province. During the same period a total of 23 people have died of coronavirus disease in the provinces hospitals.

During a three days visit to Zahedan University of Medical Sciences, Dr. Jafar Sadeq Tabrizi, the Director of PHC Network Department at the Ministry of Health, emphasized on the key role played by Primary Healthcare Workers and Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) in fighting the coronavirus pandemic.

The Mirjaveh Border Health Surveillance Unit is active throughout the year. Islamic Republic of Iran has been committed to complying with international health regulations since 2012 and at Mirjaveh-Pakistan border crossing, according to international health regulations, all travelers and foreign nationals are screened for infectious diseases included in the Iran"s Ministry of Health syndromic surveillance system.

A five-day sub-national polio immunization campaign started from 13 February 2021 where drops will be administered to children of less than 5 years of age to keep the disease at bay, despite the ongoing COVID-19 epidemic. The campaign has been planned to vaccinate over 450 thousand children under the age of five living in Sistan and Balouchestan Province.

Over 450 thousands children less than 5 years of age will be vaccinated against polio in a door-to-door campaign in Sistan & Balouchestan Province .

Iran began its Covid-19 vaccination campaign on Tuesday 11 February 2021, starting with front-line healthcare and medical workers as the country attempts to contain the coronavirus disease epidemic in the country.

During coronavirus pandemic, to provide covid-19 bereaved families with emotional support and to alleviate their anxiety, health experts of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences (ZAUMS) offered grief counseling to these families. According to Public Relations report, Dr. Seyed Mehdi Tabatabaei, Vice Chancellor for Health at ZAUMS, said: “Mental health should be a concern for all of us, rather than only for those who suffer from mental disorders, no group is immune to mental disorders.”
